Monthly Update | December 2021

Happy new year! We’re back to our regularly-scheduled monthly updates, and we’ve got a brand new host for our December 2021 installment: project manager Vicki McEachern, who just escaped the snowy mountains of Canada for the snowy streets of Chicago. We’ve got so many cool projects happening right now, that she probably won’t even notice the weather!

We were blessed to continue our partnership with the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry at its National Catholic Youth Conference last month. We sent a sizable crew to Indianapolis to livestream the event that brings together 10,000 teens.

Speaking of conferences, we also flew to Orlando for the Good News Conference hosted by Word On Fire and Corporate Travel. In addition to filming the event’s keynote speakers, we were able to produce a very special conversation between Bishop Robert Barron and Father Mike Schmitz.

We also had the opportunity to work with former Spirit Juice staffer John-Michael Keenan on a unique project for the Alliance Defending Freedom. This short film entitled “Worth It” spans several decades to briefly tell the story of a woman with an unplanned pregnancy who chooses life.

At the end of the video update, Vicki talks about two other projects from November that we spent a lot of time on: our Spirit Juice Kids show Juice Box, and our documentary on Catholic baseball player Gil Hodges. While Juice Box didn’t reach its full funding on Kickstarter, we are committed to the idea of producing high-quality Catholic content for children, so keep an eye out for future developments.

On the upside, our Hodges documentary (which can be viewed on gilhodgesfilm.com), gained a lot of positive media attention, and we like to think it moved the needle on finally getting him elected into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in early December. It was a privilege to tell the story of such an incredible player and person.

So, now we’re looking to 2022 and we would love to work with you on any creative projects you might be dreaming up for the new year. Please contact us to collaborate! As always, we are grateful for your continued support of all things Spirit Juice!
