Gear Technician
Reports to Gear Manager
As a Gear Technician, you will perform a myriad of tasks including setting up equipment and ensuring all devices are operating as intended before and after shoots. Repairs, troubleshooting, equipment logging, and studio maintenance may be required across multiple departments.
Responsibilities
- Maintains all gear
- Prepare gear for shoots
- Resets gear after shoots
- Works closely with all departments regarding any gear related issues
- Quality Checks all equipment at various points throughout the week
- Communicates repair needs to Senior Gear Tech
- Reports and tracks missing/broken/lost (L&D) items to the Senior Gear Tech
- Formats cards once they are in the “To Format”
- Maintains the cleanliness and order of the studio and gear areas
Desired Skills
- Must be familiar with camera equipment and/or willing to learn
- Must have a developing understanding of the electronic and mechanical processes cameras use to film or to capture photos
- Must have strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to follow directions through diagrams, manuals or instruction are also critical
- Must be able to take direction and initiative
- Ability to to learn new skills quickly
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
